The Uncanny Resemblance Between Baahubali & The Lion King

Baahubali is a magnum opus like no other. It is one of the rare movies, which have been lauded by one and all.

While on the one hand, India is celebrating the success of the movie for its originality, some people on Twitter think that the movie has drawn some major inspiration from the Disney classic The Lion King, and if not that, there is some uncanny resemblance between the two films. Either way, it cannot be ignored.

What may be noted here is that the Disney film is also a cinematic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. But why there’s so much fuss around it? Because there are, indeed, some similarities!

1. The big introduction

Baahubali 2, The Lion King

2. The scar and the exact way in which it rests on the face

3. The wise man with the white beard

4. Also, the lead characters are raised by families they are not related to in both the films

5. The well-timed introduction of the love interest

Food Review: Machan, Nainital

machan-restaurant

We had gone to Nainital to meet my Dad’s Friend, who is apparently his master/guru and he had taught him photography about 20-30 years back. So, he had built a large beautiful house (or I’d rather say mansion; it’s really big!) in Nainital, and it’s construction was completed not long ago, and so we went to see how beautiful the house was.

During our trip we stopped at Machan, which we have visited plenty of times before also, while the house was being constructed (yes, we went to Nainital lots of times before).

They have been ranked #2 of 32 Restaurants in Nainital!

I didn’t take many photos at Machan (I forgot about it -.-“), so not much material.

Anyways.

Everyone knows I love Chilly Chicken more than anything, I, obviously, ordered it and a Chilly Chicken Pizza!

Chilly Chicken! ❤

Everything was more than tasty!! ❤ [Though the Chilly Chicken Pizza (or rather “The Pizza”) took longer than expected. So I had a Butter Naan along with Shahi Panner during that time, which were also very tasty]

The Pizza was pretty heavy (as in, it fills the stomach fast) so we had to get it packed, but the packing guy took about 20 minutes to pack 3/4th of a pizza (I already ate 1/4th of it).

How I liked the:

WhatsApp Image 2017-05-12 at 10.41.44 PM.jpeg

On 12th May was Mom & Dad’s Engagement Day <3.

We thought that something special was to be done. So, we planned for a dinner at Ambience Mall or any such place, where there are food courts which include everyone’s ideal dinner.

But…

We were so busy talking that we took a wrong turn and ended up at Supermart-1.  -.-”

So we thought, “Okay, then let’s eat at Wai Yu Mun Ching!”. This place has been tried and tested well before.

Buddha inside the Restaurant, right beside our table. Would have been better if the light above it was switched on (guessing it is a white coloured light).

Crispy Honey Chilly Chicken (my favourite!) for starters.

Chilly Hot Garlic Chicken Noodles (I know, it’s a very long name) for Main Course.

Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce for sides (well, it is pretty spicy).

Chilly Hot Garlic Chicken Noodles again. It’s definitely spicier than Chicken Hot Garlic Noodles which we usually eat.

Happy Holi!.png

Here’s wishing you a Holi filled with sweet moments and colourful memories to cherish forever.

And Here’s a Riddle on Colours too!

There are seven parts to this riddle,

Each is part of a greater whole.
You see most of these,
Everyday as you please:

First is what I did to a book yesterday,
Second mixes with apples.
Third is a shout, then “ouch” you say,
Fourth shares the sound of mean.
Fifth is what the wind had done,
The sixth is often skipped.
The last and final can be called by two names,
If roses are this, then which is the blue one?

The person who answers the riddle with the right reason in the comments below will be awarded the genius certificate! (Write your email along with the answer so I can mail the certificate to you..)

Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, that marks the advent of spring and signifies the victory of good over evil, is celebrated by throwing coloured power and splashing water at people that often contain chemical dyes which can be harmful to the skin.

Holi is associated with the killing of Holika, the sister of demon king Hiranyakashipu. This year Holi will be celebrated on 23 March.

Tips For a Safe Holi

1. Celebrate Holi with natural home-made colours to avoid damage to skin.

2. Pink and red powder are the best options to celebrate the festival with as the colours can easily be taken off.

3. Make sure that your face is well creamed before and after the play.

4. Oil your hair well so as to keep the coloured powder from damaging your hair.

5. Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from coloured powders purchased from markets that mostly contain chemicals and dyes.

6. If you are prone to skin allergies, avoid playing with coloured powder altogether.

7. As Holi is celebrated with coloured water and powder it is best to wear old clothes that you later would like to discard.

8. Protect your nails from the harmful chemical powder by applying your choice of nail paint.
